Default Nippondenso what is part#471-0332

I have to replace the nippondesno compressor on my 1988 auto coupe.

I have found a good deal on ebay for a new Nippondenso with 2 years warranty from thepartsladi.

Shipping will be $155 because I'm in Australia, so I need to make sure I am ordering the correct part.

The photo in the listing is correct, the years 1988-1991 are correct and thepartsladi has confirmed it is for a 6 groove belt, but -

I don't recognise the part number shown which is 471-0332

On the back of my 10PA20C Nippondenso compressor is 047 200 then some numbers stamped on the label which is damaged.

Please can anyone confirm that 471-0332 is correct for my year?

It would be an expensive mistake to order the wrong part with shipping at $155 each way and a 30% charge on wrong orders!!

Do you actually need a compressor or could you reseal yours and just replace the "clutch/coil & pulley"? The compressor reseal is pretty straight forward and the kits are inexpensive. I've seen a new clutch kit from an aftermarket supplier that I believe is correct for the build.

I've never used one and I'm not familiar with the vendor. Here's a link to the clutch kit. The seals and the clutch kit would fit in an express mailer and be pretty inexpensive to ship!!

I packed a "large" express package for "rodj" and it shipped for very cheap!

Almost forgot the link: http://www.sunairusa.com/news/CA-109...h%20Update.pdf

Thanks for the link WVZR-1

but I really want to know -

does anyone recognise the part number 471-0332
and is it correct for an 88 vette?

I appreciate your advice, I don't know where the noise is coming from, and I don't know anything about resealing a compressor, but I think fixing the clutch on a 22 year old compressor would at best just buy some time, so I'd rather fit all new compressor & clutch and have one less thing to cause me trouble in the future.

The vendor/manufacturer is DENSO and using a drop-down application from the vendor/manufacturer here:

http://www.densoaftermarket.com/cata....php?part=comp

it seems that it's a confirmed application. The eBay seller has shown in the past to be reliable. I've no personal experience. If you've doubts I'd suggest you get a a buyer for you here in the US and have the fit "confirmed" before the ship to you. That might be wise anyway to get proper packaging for the ride!

You might also be able to find a DENSO wholesaler in your country. They're "global"!! There's a "contact us" at the bottom of the webpage that has "global" reach.

Sometimes you just need to "take your chances"!!

Thanks for that, yes I see the part number there- excellent - I'm convinced it IS the correct compressor and I will order now.

BTW, I've taken my chances over the years, thats what's taught me if it's possible to research and ask questions, it's always wiser!!

The price in Australia for a new 10PA20C with clutch is Aus $1200 - thepartsladi lists the same compressor , with 2 year warranty, for US$425 (au$465) . Looks like the best deal even though shipping is $155

Thanks very much for providing the link, I had googled extensively, searched the forum and checked with Forum member SunCr with no result. I see now i should have used 'Denso' not 'Nippondenso'
