Default Brake Pads Help! What am I doing wrong?

I inspected the front driver's side brake pads on my '94 vert, and they are fine. Cannot get them to line up properly to get the retaining pin back in. There is not enough clearance. What is the trick?

Need more info...what are you saying??

They are not fitting back in so that the pin goes back?? are you trying to put them in on the wrong side?? The Squeaker is in the way??

The retaining spring is in the way??

Look a little closer and a little slower....you'll see what you are doing wrong.

Your anti-rattle springs are not oriented correctly.

I only see one way to orient them. It has to be something like that. I didn't touch them. I pulled the caliper out, looked at the pads, then put it back. I am going to look at the other side tomorrow, to make sure the orientation is correct. Right now they are oriented toward the front, pointing toward the bumper. what is the correct position?

I'm guessing you switched the pads (inside to outside).

If the pads are in the caliper properly, and the rattle springs on the pads OK, then it will go on. There should be enough play for you to move the caliper around within the bracket a little bit, and it is likely shifted over just enough that the slots in the pad and bracket aren't lined up to form the hole for the pin.

Sounds like the anti-rattle spring/clip OR you received the wrong size pads.

Right on. Here is something to look for when any one works on theirs. Apparently when I pulled the caliper forward, the AR springs rubbed, orienting them toward the front, not the correct angle. I checked the other side, and they were one notch different.
