Thought it was the transmission but not sure...
Vette is a 90 automatic and is revving very high and then finally it kicks into the next gear causing the car to haul ***. I originally thought it was the transmission but could this be the catalytic converter? How can I check? It's even worse when I have t in the lower drive setting for city driving. The car revs very high and doesn't want to move then finally kicks into he next gear. What is going on with it?

Check the fluid level, and you could drop the pan to check for a broken or loose filter. What gears are slipping?

Gets stuck going from 1st to 2nd, then 2nd to 3rd. Didn't mess with anything lately. But oddly holes have rusted in the exhaust lines right where the pipes bend before they go straight back to the actual tips. Don't know if the screwed up back pressure is causing the stall, but I'm guessing it's the transmission. The reason I was asking if it's the catalytic converter is my buddy from work had an S-10 that was having the same problem and he said it ended up being the catalytic converter. I don't know how to tell the difference or what telltale signs of each problem there are (if any). Thanks again guys!

Normally a car with a clogged cat will have trouble revving to high rpms. Doesn't sound like your problem.
