Default Roller Pilot Bearing installation?

O.K. I got my stroker crank in today and noticed my GM pilot bearing slides into the end very easily. Well my question, is it supposed to be loose fitting? I thought about dimpeling around the hole and using a little locktite?
Any input would help,

No it isn't supposed to be loose, not as tight as an old rotor grease seal but you don't want it spinning inside of the crank either. Have you tried one of the bronze ones?

I heard the Bronze one's are better for street use.

It should definitely be tight -- you normally tap it in (gently) with a hammer and a wood dowel or something to keep from damaging it.

Either the hole in the crank or the bearing itself are out of spec. I definitely wouldn't use locktite -- it won't hold up.

As stated above, I'd try a different bearing first. If that doesn't work call the place you bought the crank from.

Good luck with the project!

It should be tight. Hopefully the bearing you got is below specs.

When I was young I put one in that wasn't as tight as it should have been. The car drove funny, it shifted like s--t. I figured it was spinning with the input shaft. A week later I got a new one and installed it and things were vastly improved. Now adays I hate doing anything twice! And now I could never get that old cast iron Hemi trans in my old car by myself now!
