Time to register for the cruise-in!
The Corvetteforum cruise-in takes place over Memorial Day weekend, May 23rd to 25th 2002, at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green Kentucky. You will probably have more fun at this event than any other large Corvette event you have been to. :)
Ask anyone who has been there. In fact, if you've been there, feel free to chime in on this thread!
The event is in support of the non-profit National Corvette Museum. There are many events during the weekend including:
autocrossing
drag racing
tech seminars
dyno
Road tour to Maker's Mark Distillery
Kentucky BBQ Night at Wendell Stroud's 1869 homestead
go cart racing
Corvette Assembly Plant Tours
Remote Control Car Racing (RC) at the NCM
People's Choice Car Show
A Visit with Sonny Kilgo
Corvette C4 Tech Session presented by Gordon Killebrew
Cruise-In Banquet & Auction in the museum in the midst of classic Corvettes!
Roscoe's BBQ and free for all party
Burnouts galore
The best part of the cruise-in is meeting many of the people that you talk to on the forum everyday.
You can see the schedule here.
You can register here.
You can discuss it here.
You can see pictures from Cruise-In II here.
Get yourself signed up if you haven't already! :D

Jeff, I'd call the museum. Last year my dad and I registered the same time over the web. When we showed up, they had his info, but not mine. My card was never charged but luckily, Ray Quayle gave me his wife's registration since she didn't make the trip!!!! What a guy. Hope we see him at CI-III....!
I think I'm going to make it this year, so I need to sign up myself! :D :D :D

Is the dyno going to be set up at the museum or at Beach Bend and how much does it cost?

I won't know if I can make it until the end of April probably. Had a good time the last 2 years, so I am hoping for a 3rd.

This may be a dumb question, but what exactly is a "low speed" autocross?

Low speed autocross is just that. Low speed :D
I think they never get out of first gear. I've never done it, so I can't honestly anwser.
As for the dyno, it has always been set up at the NCM. It's like $75 for three pulls. That could change.

You'll find that you will have to decide between bumping up against the rev limiter and shifting to second on the course. If you drive a Z06 you will probably have to shift to second.

 The Forum Cruise In is one of the ultimate Corvette Experiences!
It's great to get together on a local level, but it is awesome to get together on a National level :D
This year promises to be even better than last!
Starting Wednesday night with Roscoe's first "feed us", right through Saturday, you won't have a dull moment.
Anything worth doing, takes a little effort...a little sacrifice.
What ever effort you put forth, whatever seeming sacrifices you make to attend will be amply rewarded.
Cruise In memories and friendships last a lifetime
:seeya All there
Jack
PS: Sometimes it might seem that newcomers might have a time getting into the action...absolutely not so! If this is your first or your third cruise in, you will feel at home immediately

Depending on the depth of your pockets or the extent of your frugality, you can spend as little as around $43 per night for a room right next to the Baymont, or you can spens a lot more. It's up to you!
Reqistration for a good number of the events, is around $77, and Roscoe will feed you three great meals for around 30 bucks. Again, depending on how much you want to spend, breakfasts and lunches can be had for around $ 4 to $ 7 at Bob Evans or other places
I allote around $ 400 for the weekend, including fuel and that's about where I usually wind up
Definitely worth the bucks, that's why I am going back for the third time
Oh, about registration, check out several threads here or dial up the Museum
hope to see you there
Jack

I agree!
Let's do Cruise in 111 again! Then let's skip cruise in 4, it wasn't that good! Then CI V was a good one, we can do that again too!
Thanks to the Corvette Forum, I am ten years younger than I was yesterday

I think the Pats are going to have to do a little rebuilding this year but they should be back in it the year after. I know I'm going out on a limb but I'm thinking Tampa Bay and Oakland in Superbowl XXXVII...
