Please school me on the 1994 Neutral Safety Switch
Greetings. I need to understand how the Neutral Safety Switch works on the 1994 with Automatic. I see all the parts people list for 1995-up.
-Does the 1994's switch control the backup lights?
-Can it give a false signal causing the back up lights to come on?
-Was there an issue with the 1994 switch that caused the upgrade for 1995?
-What pushes or pulls on the switch to let it know what gear you're in? cable?
Please accept my apologies if my questions don't make sense.
Thanks much.

Unless it is vastly different than a regular GM ( and other Vette ) switches it has 3 parts ;
the neutral safety switch , the back up light switch and a P/N indicator for the computer.
All in one unit that mounts at the bottom of the shifter and operated by a pin off the shifter shaft that engages the switch
There are 3 pairs of terminals for the three functions
If it was worn ,is possible for backup lights to work in wrong position or more commonly , safety switch not to work at all giving no crank
Rockauto has them listed for $27 (AC Delco Part # D2297)
