Brake master rebuild completed.
I was having a soft pedal issue and the fluid was nasty. After 20+ years of service, it was well past time for an overhaul.
The Master rebuild kit I purchased from RockAuto for around $115.00, The hose kit from Ecklers for $75.93 w/shipping. With brake fluid, total just a bit over $200.00.
Nothing unexpected. All the fittings and bleeders broke free easily. The most difficult part of the project was getting the reservoirs and grommets onto the master inlet ports

Contaminated fluid.

OE front left hose.

Replacement hose, front left. Thats rain water on the ground, not brake fluid.

OE rear left hose

Replacement hose, left rear.

Warning switch, nasty.

Warning switch port.

Proportioning valve assm.

Master disassembled.

Master rebuild kit.

After disconnecting the pipe fitting from the hose fitting, remove the retaining clip.

Then remove the inlet bolt from the caliper. Be sure to remove the old sealing washers, sometimes they stick to the caliper. Replace with new washers.
The hose brackets are keyed and indexed, here is a pic of the left front. The rears are similar. The hoses are wheel specific.

I thought the new sealing washers were a bit on the narrow side compared to the OE's, I could not find eight replacements at my local parts stores (NAPA did not stock, Advance had 4 on hand) so went ahead and used the ones included with the hose kit. You can see in the pic, about 30% difference in the sealing area.

The torque specs per my FSM.
Front and rear brake pipe tube nuts to master - 13 lbs.ft.
Master to Booster nuts - 13 lbs.ft.
Proportioning valve end plug - 18 lbs.ft.
Piston stop bolt - 89 lbs.in.
Warning switch- hand tight only.
Brake hose to inlet pipe tube nut - 13 lbs.ft.
Brake hose to caliper inlet bolt - 30 lbs.ft.
Wheels - 100 lbs.ft.
Bleed sequence for my 1990.
1. Right front
2. Right rear
3. Left rear
4. Left front

Cost was around $115. The seals and cap seals have PBR stamped on them same as OEM. The part # is Raybestos MK1856.
