Default Stock LT1 Exhaust vs With Added X-Pipe

Completely Stock 95' LT1 Exhaust then with the Resonator Removed and added a
3" Flowmonster X-Pipe Only.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCZYAgz4V1g

I think it Makes the Stock Exhaust Sound Awsome. Louder, Lower and with no Drone whatsoever.

What do you think?

thank you for the video. I assume you are still using stock mufflers.

I too will be doing this soon.

Its my understanding the stock lt1 exhaust is app. 2 3/4" in diameter and then necks to 2 1/4" in diameter at both the resonator and then again into the mufflers.

So 3" resonator is effectively larger than the stock exhaust pipe.

I used a 3" X Pipe because my Muffler Shop Guy said it would be easier for Him with the Installation.

Cajun that video was great. Nice to have a comparison like that. I took my new Magnaflows off this morning and I'll order that x-pipe. Be gone dreaded drone!

Very nice! Love the deep growl when you throttle it. Where did you find the flowmonster. How much was the conversion? I'm only asking because I priced a shop to do mine with a 3" magnaflow X and it was north of $400.

Sounds good Cajun. As mentioned much deeper tone.

I love my X pipe! I just wished I'd done this to start with. I'd saved myself a boat load of change.

I paid $42.88 for the X-Pipe and $130.00 for Installation (2 Hrs.Parts & Labor)

http://www.flowmonster.com/Xpipes.aspx

This one looks identical to the Flowmonster for less $$$$

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-5-i...Q5fAccessories

Plus 1-2 MPG Increase and pulls stronger over 4,000 RPM

That sounds great! There is actually a difference in sound with the stock vs X-pipe exhaust! I think that is what I will be doing shortly!!!

Isnt the stock resonator straight through? So why such a difference in sound?

I really like it...Yes,the resonator is straight through but I think the Scavaging affect has alot to do with the nice deeper / louder sound.

I hear Ya! The stock exhaust is not too shaby..Flows pretty well and I just can't justify the extra money for an aftermarket set.

I ordered a magnaflow X-pipe thru Summit racing. It will be here by the w\e and have it installed on Wed May 5. All I want is a lil' more flow and a deeper growl at idle and acceleration. For the $200 total, it should be worth it.
