Hi,
I have a C4 convertible. My A/C (or heater) doesn't always work. The compressor is running but the blower sometimes doesn't turn on. I can get to turn on by setting the blower speed manually. And this too is intermittent.
I took the car to the dealer's shop and I was told that the a/c blower switch is no longer made. I should just do the manual turn on thing. But that doesn't always work.
Any suggestions? Can I still get a non-original but equivalent switch?
Thanks for your help!!
Why not buy a used switch from a corvette salvage place. Do a search. But this may not cure it...diagnosing these probs requires the shop manual..best thing you can buy..as you've already seen what some dealer shops...can do for you. Just about any problem on earth ..well with these cars can be found and solved on this site..just supply as much info as possible. I'm still learning after 5 years of owning one..its endless. I read every post I can using the search function.

It may be the only thing I could do. I was hoping there is a brand new switch I can use in place of the original. So long I can have it hidden behind, no one would know.
I'm starting my search now and I'll be a step ahead when I find out there's no other switch like it.
Don't know of any Year with a Blower Switch. What Year? Manual or Electronic Air?
It's 1993. The shop mechanic called it A/C Control Unit Fan or A/C Control Head. Sorry if I was loose on the terms. The A/C fan is not turning on automatically and can sometimes be set to turn on by manually setting A/C fan speed.
I recently had to replace the blower motor. It was $25 at O'reiley's (checker). Now the blower spins up faster, and comes on quicker, and the A/C is colder cause more air comes out.
Try a new fan motor to spice up your environment.

Hi, did you have to replace any of the switched or A/C Control Head when you put in a new blower motor. I may do this just to increase the volume of air. But I'll still have the same problem if my switches are not working.
