What is the difference between the 87 and up altenators and the older style??

Default What is the difference between the 87 and up altenators and the older style??

Question for everyone::::i need to upgrade my 85 to the newer style alt. from a 87, the connecter plug on the 87 is different :confused: does anyone know what i would need to do to make it work? the 87 style is the only one that will bolt to the supercharger setup i am using....thanks

It wires identically, and you can buy the wire connectors at almost any parts store. They sell those wire pigtails individually because people burn them up pretty often.
