Default Move my alternator to the pass side

90 l98

I have been looking for a bracket to move my alternator to the passenger side. All the kits I find seem to be for the drivers side.

I've considered that too, for less weight on the drivers side. I would probably make my own brackets. If you wanted to try buying brackets take a look at other SBC stuff. I've seen some places selling chrome brackets/pulley kits etc.

Pardon my Ignorance, but why would you wan't to move the alternator to the passenger side? I can't believe its worth moving because of weight , they don't weigh that much..Eating a burger and fries before a race would add that much weight.....WW

Wow, moving the alternator to the right side would necessitate taking off the air conditioner. I have all the respect in the world for that air conditioner. It keeps me cool. The C4 is a hot box anyway, If I had to race with out an air conditioner, I would just take off the right door

I have a vert so I removed the A/C, I have never driven the car with the top up. The reason I am moving the alternator is I plan to use the drivers side for a supercharger. I am re wire looming the car so I figured now would be the best time to move it.

Some of the bolt in supercharger kits have a bracket to relocate the alternator to the right side. Might want to check with Paxton or Vortex.

I'm installing a supercharger my car with no air conditioning. Will there be a ready-made bracket for the alt on the passenger side?
I think it would balance the engineI think it would balance the engine.

Not for the person that wants to keep AC. I did it on the rat rod 85 because I wanted to ditch the AC eliminator pulley, AIR pump and bracket. I took a re-manufactured 120 amp alternator and dropped it in the AC bracket with the help of a few fabbed pieces and spacers. My method wouldn't clear the inside of a stock hood but I have gutted most of the skin on the underside of mine. Overall, not necessary in most cases, I just wanted to drop some weight...that and I was bored.

In a setup from 2002 I used the original A/C - tensioner bracket from 1984 CrossFire Corvette to mount the alternator.

I used the inner bolt with a spacer and used aluminum piping to make some simple brackets for the outer alternator bolt.

I did it in 2008. Used a heim joint and made a simple bracket:
