85 fuel pump in my 84?
Well I am thinking of swapping my fuel pump in my 84.
I want to install a new Bosche high performance fuel pump I got from a friend since he does not have his 85 vette anymore.
I have read that the 85 fuel pump is better and want to find out if this will work in my 84. I saw some threads where people said it worked better.
My questions are,
do I have to make any other adjustments if I install ?
I looked at the 85 and the wiring is somewhat different also. How do I go about changing the wiring for my 84?
Will this have any effect on the O2 sensor , running lean etc?
Any info would be appreciated.

The 85 pump will work fine as a replacement for the 84.
The 85 does deliver more pressure than the 84 so be sure your supply and return lines are in good shape.
The 84 pump pressure is around 19 psi max that it feeds the TB's with. The 85 I believe is more in the neighborhood of 45-50psi. That pressure will not matter . There is a regulator located on the rear TB that automatically adjusts your pressure to 9-13 psi. So it doesn't matter what the pump feeds, with that reg you'll be fine.
Before converting mine to the HSR intake I used a 85 pump on mine when my orginal pump went bad. Now I use a LT-1 pump. Again... I never made any changes to the wiring in the tank.
Hope it helps
