but tts datamaster reads ~750prm, is something wrong with the tach ?

My '90 was the same way. The instrument clusters were new in 90 and apparently they needed a few years to get the bugs worked out. I wound up replacing the entire cluster with one from a '96. It's real easy to do. My oil pressure also registered more accurately with the later dash. I like it because all of the small gauges have hash marks dividing up the sweep so you can get a better reading. If you do this, you will need to swap out the LED center panel or you will just get a bunch of gibberish. If you get a '92 or '93 cluster, the lettering will be orange like your current one. My '96 has white lettering, something I didn't realize until I installed it, but it doesn't concern me enough to change it.
