HELP! Any Suburban/Yukon owners here?
Now that my ZR-1 is in the hands of another lucky guy I need to get on to other cars' issues. I bought a 2005 Suburban with the AUTORIDE suspension system. The SERVICE RIDE CONTROL light is constantly on and I don't think the system works at all. The little "bags" in the rear look dried out and I don't know if the pump even comes on. The grounding point for several of the wires to the system looks pretty crappy. I don't know where the fuse is for the pump.
BUT...if this system is dead I do not want to pay for a new pump or those very, very expensive shocks. This is another bs GM pice of unneccesary gimmickry that is far more complex than it needs to be (even more than our adjustable vette system). SO...has anyone here replaced the autoride with a standard HD shock setup?

Fuse is probably under the hood in a black box. Underside of the lid it should say which one is which. Went through that, with the abs, modukr on my 02 never replaced it stops the same. One day the kight will burn out beats paying $900

If it's the same system as my 07 Denali, there are airbags in the rear instead of springs. Does your Sub sag in the rear when loaded? I guess you haven't heard your pump go on when parked uphill with the motor on? Maybe pay GM $100 to diagnose the thing and possibly fix it yourself if not too involved.

Found this on a link from the Chevy Forum. Obviously got to diagnose before throwing parts at it but maybe the tech guys at this site can offer some help there.

Turns out the #1 problem back there was discovered by a DT guy putting new rubber on: the entire bracket that is normally factory welded to the diff housing (left rear) is GONE! Broken off to a weld trail. Not even hanging by a bolt...just gone. Of course, the trailing arm is hanging there with nothing to attach to.
And, of course, this is not a replaceable part without buying a whole axle housing, so I'm having one fabricated and welded in.....to the tune of $400+.
Anyway, when he gets done with that I think I'll go for some high quality HD shocks with maybe OL springs.
And I thought the vette was hard to keep up with.
