Nitto NT555 vs. Goodrich g-Force Sport?
Looking to put tires on the '87 (275/40-17 on ZR1 wheels) and I think I've narrowed it down to these two tires. Any comments from those who've used them (or both)? I've certainly heard good things about the 555. This is a summertime street car only. My last tires (on the stock 16" wheels) were Firehawks that I used for 7 years. Tread is still great but they are hard as a rock. I guess I need to drive it harder!

I have Nt555's on the C4 and G Force Sports on my '95 Z28. Go Nitto's all the way, The BFG's suck. I've never gotten a BFG I like. Toyo and Nitto are the only 2 I've been happy with. discounttiredirect.com has a good price on the Nitto's. Some guys go 285 on all 4 corners because word is the Nitto's run small, but I bought 275's and they look fine. They hook great!

I bought the Nitto 555's 275 front and 315 rear, I really like them. They grip the road very well, quiet and smooth sidewall which I like. I had BFG KDW's before, good grip but very noisy. I also got my Nittos from DTD. I think you will be really happy with them.

They also do price matching, so shop around, find the best price and they give it to you with the free shipping.

Keep in mind that there are 2 versions of the 555. The 555 is a drag radial, and the 555 R II is the road racing tire. If you like to auto-x and whatnot and don't drive much in the rain, consider the NT01.

My understanding is the 555R is the drag radial and the 555RII is the road racing tire. I'm just looking at the plain 555 which is a summer street tire. I do not autox or drag or anything. I don't make a point of driving in the rain but I don't want the car to turn into a hockey puck if it does happen either.
