Default Starting Problem?

Here is my problem. I unlock the door, get in the car, turn the key and hear a buzzing sound then everything goes dead. No interior/dash lights, horn etc. After a few minutes she starts right up. Once started, all electronics are reset as though the battery was disconnected. Next morning same thing. Any ideas?

You have the symptoms of a poor battery cable connection to your battery posts. Of course the connection is ok when it starts right up, but corrosion creeps during the night and you have a resistance connection the next morning. Get out your 5/16 wrench and remove the cables, ground first, and scrub them until they are bright along with the battery posts. Then replace them , positive first. The corrosion will be obvious when you remove the battery cables. Even better, go to an auto parts store and buy two 5/8 battery terminal bolts (brass) and through away the wimpy GM 5/16 bolts.
The buzzing you hear is the start solenoid oscillating from the poor battery connection.

Thanks jfb,

I was hoping it was something stupid like the terminals. I'll try your suggestion in the morning.
