1994 Corvette Tires
A friend has now entered the world of Corvettes. He bought a 1994 coupe. He has some tires kicking around that are 275/40/17. He wants to know if these will work at all with his stock 94 wheels?
Sorry, tires are not my strength.

The factory wheels are staggered, directional and are different size.
front 17"x8.5" 56mm (6.9" backspacing) P255/45ZR-17
rear 17"x9.5" 56mm (7.4" backspacing) P285/40ZR-17

I knew that they were different sizes so I wasn't sure if the tires he already had would work at all.
He wasn't sure if they would work or if they did actually fit if it would have any major affect on the ride and handling.
I told him just to buy the correct tires.

His 275x40 tires will work just fine on the 9.5" wide wheels. My 95 because of the suspension option, came with 9.5" wheels on all 4 corners and I run 275x40x17 on all 4 corners.
If he has the 8.5" wide wheels on the front that many cars came with, then the 275 tires are too wide for those
