Do I need a performance chip?
I have done the following mods this year to my '88 4+3 Z51:-
Ported heads and Exhaust manifold
Comp Cams 1.6RR
Comp Cams grind 264 cam 0.48 lift (if I remember right) + uprated springs
Roller Chain
Hardened push rods
K and N filter with Cut lid
I was hoping that this was my lot this year, but a rescent post made me think - will I need a performance chip with this lot or will I get away with tuning tweeks?

Definitely. The cam and ported heads are the main things in your setup that cause you to need one.
What's the LSA on that cam? I'm surprised you've been able to drive that thing normally with a stock program so far.
