yes i will be using 1.6 roller rockers
My miniram is not currently ported but i've done a butt load of porting in the past so i'll be tackling that when the old motor is out.
in terms of power i expect to see no more than 450hp to the wheels. Should be in the ballpark of 600 or alittle under flywheel hp. Not exactly sure on the TQ. Jim could better answer that for ya.
As far as tuning i'm gonna work with the stock ECU casue i really can't afford an aftermarket one now. PCMforless just so happens to be only about an hour and a half from me so i'm planning on getting tuned on their dyno. Thats the idea anyway!

Where are you located at? He flying out to vist or do car stuff? I'd love to fly out to where he is to see the motor coming together!

Whopps. I am located in Ontario. A little town of about 500 ppl that is located an hour north of Toronto. He is flying out cause he likes me!

After speaking to Tony Mamo he claimed that for whatever reason the 195 comp ports were the best flowing head that has come out of his stable given the size (believe mine poured 196cc). If I remember correctly they flowed 303/234 at .600 lift. I thought about going to a 227, but I wanted this motor super tight, and I think it will be after I get a few things ironed out.

So there you have it. You arent the only one who has wondered why such a small head on a bigger stroker. I too should be in the area of 450rwhp but I have a manual so that is probably in the 540chp area, but who knows!

Take care.
Ah cool! sory didn't mean to start anything there was just curious what the theory behind it was. I'm still learnin and didn't know if you knew somethin i didn't! maybe i should be just using the 195 competition heads!?!?

You didnt start anything. If anything my heads are probably too small, but the proof will be in the puddling when I get around 2 driving it!

Take care!

Amen! i can't wait to get things rolling further here!

Update: Jim and I ordered the heads today

AFR 210's with upgraded springs, titanium retainers, and 7/16 rocker studs. These things are the bomb! Might be a few weeks before they come in.

Getting started on pulling the old motor. Sold it to a guy local to me. Here's a few pics of the progress:

Got her up on jacks first and the front wheels off for ease of access

We'll she's out and gone! 1300 bucks richer and down 1 v8. That'll cover majority of the cost of my new heads.

I need to move the car from here over to a different location so i can do some sand blasting and painting. There's really no easy way to brace up the tranny in this car so i decided to just remove it. Here's some pics:

Anyone have any tips or ideas to clean up the underside of the car? I'm gonna purple power it all and power wash it but anyone have tips on how to kinda spruce up the aluminum, maybe steel wool or wire wheel it or hit it with one of those plastic wheels on a drill or something??

You have entered the worst part of the whole job. I used purple power to loosen up the grease. Then brake cleaner to prep stuff for painting. Once you get the aluminum clean, some Mothers will help bring it back to life. Tooth brushes work too. Have fun in there.

lol hey now! the wifey ain't gonna like that

I'm gonna keep the mufflers only the rest gets scrapped. I'll be doing 3 inch piping all the way out the back, and instead of that resonator i'll be putting in a 3 inch X-pipe i think. Still tossing around ideas but thats the plan right now
