Not High Performance Pontiac.

My 70 TA was on the front cover of Car Craft 1985.
Believe it was October.
Found that out after I bought it.
Traced all owners back.

It was Lucerene Blue back than.

Its painted polar White again.
The original color.

The TA is stashed away.
how I do things.

All my cars are not in 1 location.

Taught by the guy who taught me over 20 years being the mechanic I am today.

Never keep all your Golden eggs in place.

They exist.
Just like you and me.

Pontiacs are very nice cars. A guy in the corvette club here in Australia was selling one at the car show I was at on the weekend. Even had a tpi (with edelbrock runners) to my surprise. I had to restrain myself from making an offer.

That is shooting for a Super Stock Record.

What transmission were you using ?
Doug Nash 5- speed?
Or Super T-10 4-speed.

What rear?
9"
or 1957 - 1964 Pontiac Olds Rear?
Not many rears available with 6.50:1 gearsets

My guess you had a 301 smallblock built to Pro Stock standards

Or a destroked Big Block Chevy.
11K is high R's.

No, its featuring all the guys from Pontiac, IL.
A car club.

I seen the mag,
tracked one of the owners back in 1994.

He had the magazine.
he offered it to me to keep.
Said " You keep it John,
it was your car back then".

I have not been able to track down the magazine since.
Going by 1994.
Was 26 then.
41 now, memory or dates do fade as you all know.

If you guys here on C4 find my that magazine,

I will get You some $$ for the copy in my hands.

I remember it featured maybe 12 cars on the front cover of that Pontiac car club.

My car is back 3 or 5 cars deep in the photo layout.

Its painted Lucerene Blue back then with the large single white stripe over the hood, shaker painted white, white stripe over the roof, trunklid, and rear spoiler.

I bought the car is September 1994,
brought it home.

All my friends recognized the car from the magazine shoot.
But no one had a copy of the magazine on hand.

Such my luck to this day.

Couple of people in this thread have the ability to drag things WAY off topic.
Not a lot of relevance to the TPI flow restrictions as OP asked ;
more like my life story in 100 words or less

This is also a forum where your not "supposed" to post high-speed/street-racing stories. Interesting where you pick to draw the line.

Take a quick peak in General. You'll find more than one thread focusing on owner's non-C4 rides. There's no taboo here. It looks like Prozac has you pegged.

Yes I know.

We will run into each other somewhere.
I believe you can box too.
And if I let you,
you will kick the chit out of me.

I don't like receiving *** beatings no more than you do.
So we will just beat the chit out of each other.

If its ok with you, then its ok with me too.

Afterwards maybe will like each other.

Maybe not.

Both are stubborn SOB.

Likely why we both are still alive and have not succumbed to an early demise.

Have a nice day, really,

Brian

LOL

I am not trying to set a New NHRA Super Stock record like you have broken and still hold honorary title for in your in your race car.

Street driven with ***** to wall power when the gas is mashed to the floor.

My 1970 TA breaks the tires loose at 100mph in high gear- 4th.
Just cruising maybe 1/3 throttle applied on primary circuit of carb only.

Mash the gas pedal down hard, 4bbl secondaries open fully and Factory Shaker Hoodscoop electric solenoids pull the rear blacked out trap door open 90 degrees.
It sucks air from the high pressure zone present at the lower windshield.
You see 160 + in 5 seconds or less if you keep your foot planted firmly down and don't lift up.
Engine taching out at 6,200RPM's at 160.

Lots of fun and quite entertaining.

Thats the kind of power I am after and more if it can be had.

I won't let up on the gas for you between shifts, foot planted to the floor,
TA and us will go sideways between gear upshifts.

You will live..........trust me.

Thank You,

Well, If I can turn my 1970-1/2 TA Pontiac engine I built to 8,500RPM's over and over without failure under full load......
7k minimum target rpm peak I want. Any more a bonus to me.
Must have decent streetability. Car will be driven much of the time.
Super High airflow numbers dont concern me like most people.
High velocity airflow at ALL RPM ranges do.
my nose is kinda stuffed up from allergies.. can anyone else smell it?
