What muffler will do what I want???
Im running LT headers into a magnaflow 30% over cat then to the back of the car with no mufflers at all..I liked the sound at first, but now its just a little to loud..Is there a muffler you know of that would cut down the sound just a little bit? I don't want to quiet it way down , just want to knock the edge off of it, if you know what I mean.. ...Thanks...WW

I have corsa's you may not be happy,I think to quiet for you.
You won't get any drone sound from the corsa's
How about Magnaflow's.
I have Magnaflow's on my truck and there to loud in the cab for me, so I'm pulling them off soon.

I hate my Magnajunk exhaust. Besides being too loud for my tastes (you may like it), it is poor quality. The pass. side intermediate pipe is an 1/4 inch larger than the Mangaflow oem replacement converter I bought with the system, creating a huge leak that I finally sealed (it involved voodoo and a chicken. Both mufflers are also broken: the hangers having ripped out of the top of the mufflers. I am looking to replace it with a factory LT1 exhaust as soon as I can find one. I doubt that I will ever buy a magnaflow exhaust system again. I would have sent it back but someone at work threw away the box and the paperwork by accident.

If you don't have one, it's worth adding.
It will take the edge off of the exhaust of your Vette.
Tone it down or mellow it out.
I have a setup like that on my 87 vert with targa style muffler eliminators.

This is funny, I went to Magnaflow because they had less drone than some others I tried. However, I have the x pipe and my system is a true dual, maybe that's the difference. Also I used universal style mufflers since I built my own system.

Check out the Mecury Marine 9.0L Turbocharged V8 in C4 ZR-1 Tonight.
Watch the U-tube video clip.
Simply awesome.
170 + on the water.
Just shy of having 2,000 HP. LOL

Interestingly enough, a local performance builder said he's seen the addition of "X" or "H" pipes increase drone (sometimes). He doesn't know of a magic formula for eliminating drone -- and wouldn't guarantee it would cure my 1700rpm blues.
That said, for WW7's request to "knock just a bit of the edge off", I'd consider the installation of glass-packs (aka resonators) first. They're cheap ($20 ea) and easy to install. And, there's probably enough room to add a second set if that's not enough.
Or, if you throw Magnaflow pre-cats back in, I guarantee that will cure the problem as well.

I had for my L98 car
targa tips
dual outlet stock L98 from Mamo way too restrictive
Corsa, loved them but was too loud on the freeway way too loud
LTx cat back
now
generic dynomax side to side super turbos 2.5 inches, they drone a little I told myself to like it, cause even the LTx droned a little.
so now I am happy,
maybe flowmaster, spin tech, next for that deep rumble I want to feel I hear about.
try one combo any combo and don't worry it won't be the last time you F'd with the exhaust, just make sure they don't shove the pipe in too far into the muff, and watch them do it the shoving should only happen between you and the carcass you making out with.

I'm running a Spin Tech. The owner says they're designed for performance while outperforming all other sport mufflers. I can't say if that's true, but I can say they drone. They attenuate more high frequency sound than low-frequency. You get a sweet low-rpm rumble, but you also get the 1700-2200 rpm drone.
I'm running their street series. I also think it's too quiet in general (except low-rpm rumble and drone). I wouldn't recommend it to be honest. That's because, from the sound aspect, I think it quiets the wrong frequencies.

Oh yeah....
The Magnaflow x-pipe resonator combo would be a great choice too! It looks like a muffler but has an x-pipe inside. It's dual-in/dual-out.
LT4Obsesses is running it with stock manifolds and no cats or mufflers. Talk about a sweet sound!!! Just the right level of loud too!

While I don't have headers on my 87, I do run true duals with DynoMax Ultra Flo Race mufflers. With this combo, the car is quiet at lower RPM ranges like you would see at highway speeds and no resonance. But at WOT, it is loud.
I wound up installing an X-pipe at the location where the main cat would be and that quieted the car even more at low to mid-range RPM. At WOT it's still loud and there is a SOTP increase in power in the mid-RPM ranges.
The car is primarily for autocross and track day use and there is no carpeting or insulation in the car. Still quiet on the street.

i cant belive how many bad things(fit/drone/quality/loud?) ive read about them,i have a 3" cat back system, shorty headers,no cats,p/n 16387 and was suprised to have absolutly no interior drone, its not very much louder than stock.(also have a procharger on it).the fit was great.

I have a 3" SLP system on mine. It had a drone from the start before the headers. The headers didn't seem to change the drone but did let a little more of the rumble loose at all rpms. I think my car has a pretty good sound from the outside. The worst part of the drone is the typical 1700-2000 rpm range and also depends on whether I'm under a load (going uphill much worse). The drone is pretty bad though and at first almost unbareable but now it doesn't bother me near as much.
