Is the side of the diode with the silver band connected to the green or black wires on the compressor connector??? If someone can check that out for me I would appreciate it! Thanks.

Hey,

Ill check it when I get home tonight. Im tackling the AC nightmare right now too. Can you do me a huge favor and put a voltmeter on the green and black at that plug and let me know how many volts it shows when you turn on the AC? Mine is showing 8 volts only and Im not sure if that is right or not.

I don't know which is which, but the line goes on the supply side. As in one is the supply (pos voltage), the other is the return (lower voltage/ground). I'm not sure which side of the compressor circuit the safety switches are on, so it is difficult to dwscribe from here.

VetteNoob, I have the same problem you do. My compressor won't turn on either. I found out that my a/c pressure switch went bad so that might be the same problem you have. Now to find were I can buy a new switch.

I need to know if the band on the diode faces the green/white wire or the black wire.

Just got back in from lunch, forgot I drove the vette eventhough it is my daily driver. :rolleyes: On mine, the band is nearest the black wire.
