Thanks VetteMed,

Well now, that certainly explains why the J55 does not appear as an OPTIONAL fittment for the 1995 in the Hawk catelogs.

Always learning . . . . .

This is a very good dual purpose pad:

I tried it and liked it: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...pose-pads.html
They sell for about $90 on Ebay.

How do you feel about dust and noise?

I guess the better pad means more dust and more noise? No happy medium?

kind of. you really should directly answer that though. if you need cold bite with the ability to withstand heat, can tolerate minor noise and don't mind dust the carbotech ax8 and hawk hp+ are likely the two you should be looking at.

Original question - Hawk Blues
If you want to change rotors EVERYTIME you replace pads go ahead and use them.
It was the only pad I could find once for a Mustang I was tracking and I had to change the rotors every pad change. Horrible rust that became concrete if it just thought about getting wet from dew.

I love the xp12/10 combo. The J55 brakes became standard in later year c4's.

street/track - HP+ or the carbotech autocross pad. If you don't mind a little extra squeal on cold mornings I've used xp10/8 without a problem

I have run Hawk HP+, and Carbotech 10/8 combo on the street to work, and autocross and track days. They will do double duty. Just realize you are compromising - on the street mine were a little noisy and dusty, and at the track I did not have the "best" pad, but they work.

just checked on the axxis ultimate which is another one of my fav street pads. now get this. axxis is PBR and PBR is who makes the j55 caliper. however, the people who make the caliper don't seem to create the pads for it but they do make pads for my integra which uses a caliper they did not design.

totally normal right.

For $27.38 including shipping, this should be your first choice, Mintex Xtremes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Minte...Q5fAccessories
Here is the description of the pad:

Apparently, they are a discontinued version of one of Mintex's compounds.
