All the parts for my build went under the tax radar except the heads. I got slugged $350 in australian tax on top of the $365 freight because their value was greater than $1000.

Don't worry about the shipping costs. I have set up a mail forwarding address in Florida that takes care of the international leg at semi-reasonable rates. Have to also keep each parcel value less than a $1000 otherwise Australian customs and other taxes pounce.

Its 1:00AM Thusrsday morning and grabbed a cup of coffee.
The 1st thing my old friend Crazy Eddie said to me after I explained about my off the wall scheme to put together a custom Vortech blower package for your 87 Vert using my 87 TPI Vert to mock all bracketry and discharge tubing with an air to air or icewater intercooler setup and the fun we would have fabricating like the "Good Old days together".........
"How the heck are we going to ship the Vortech Blower package off to him to Australia without costing $3,000 some dollars Brian??????"
I said to Ed I will work on that for Steve...........
Be fun if you come to the USA and meet.
Crazy Ed is putting New Borla "X" series mufflers on his Race car to drive on the street.
He has 5 point racing harnesses in the Passenger seat too.
His car runs on VP C16 race fuel or higher motor octane 120 race gas.
Gives you an idea how much power can be had when he nails the gas pedal.
He is a better driver than me with cars over 1,000+ HP.
Eddie has never killed me.
I trust him 100% with Vortech Blowers & his experience along with his sub 8- second 1/4 mile driving skills.
You need really to be instructed in person to work with Superchargers for 1 day or 2.

When You Board the plane with your Vortech Blower package claim it as Your other Child Steve........
One thing I do not want is you to get screwed again,
Look at where your renegade intake is,
not in your hands still yet.
Pick it up in person.
Or has to be insured for full value.
Insurance claim with international paperwork would be a nightmare too.

"Reconditioned V-1 T Trim, Comprehensive 6 Month Warranty $ 2,795"
So realistically it is not worth importing one from the US unless it was less than $1000.
I will ask them for a quote for the whole kit and see what they say.

I have had a look at a company that supplies reconditioned vortechs in Australia:
"Reconditioned V-1 T Trim, Comprehensive 6 Month Warranty $ 2,795"
So realistically it is not worth importing one from the US unless it was less than $1000.
I will ask them for a quote for the whole kit and see what they say.

We are looking anyway yet.
If you do not buy it,
I may keep it for myself.
1st time Ed seen my 87 Vert & opened the hood to show him the very clean engine bay,............
He said put a Vortech on there.
Then I imagined a car going sideways @ 140 mph few a few seconds down the track and Ed recovering it yet before the finish line.

"GM 761 supercharger recently rebuilt polished manifold for 350chev $1700ono"
Maybe this could go on the 84.

I know it. lol
I used to have 10 garages full of parts & cars.
I downsized last few years.
Down to 3 garages now full of cars & parts.
I believe you meant GMC 6-71 supercharger.
If you found A DYERS SUPERCHARGER, YOU HAVE FOUND A GOOD ONE TO BUY, PUT AWAY FOR LATER USE , OR INSTALL ON 1 OF YOUR CARS RIGHT NOW.
About equivalent to a Vortech "S" trim centrifugal supercharger as far as performance adding power goes.

Yes you'll find some coolant, take the Coolant temp sensor from the right head
and the fan switch from the left head, that will drain lots of coolant , you'll end up with a real wet floor ! then remove the heads , the block has some coolant drain plug in the front but i can't remembe where

Then remove the coolant drain plug on the driver's side, around by the oil filter housing.
The plug & knock sensor may be real tight from being in place since 1987.
Be sure to have a tight fitting socket of the right size.
Snap On socket would be awesome.
If no coolant comes out after removing the block drain plug & knock sensor do not be surprised.
There is gunk & corrosion in the way of letting coolant out.
Take a small screwdriver or icepick and push the junk into the block.
If you are not careful & ready you will get a 3-4 gallon bath of Green/Orange antifreeze.
Have drain pans ready Steve & convenient so You can catch coolant right away.
The radiator only holds only about 1/3 rd of total coolant on our C4s stock.

Thanks Brian. I am working outside so the coolant can just run where it likes.

Good job for tomorrow now. Have to get underneath and remove the crossbracing and exhaust to get at some of the head bolts too. As I only recently had the heads serviced hopefully the drain plug will be freed up already. I note that the head bolts don't seem very tight. Not when compared to my old aussie Ford cleveland anyway.
Thanks Brian. I am working outside so the coolant can just run where it likes.

be sure to catch every drop of anti-freeze.
Just a few drops on the ground or in a dish and your best furried friend is going to die within 20 minutes if they lick it up & they will too.
Smells and tastes like sugar candy to them all.
Very poisonous stuff most anti-freezes.
I had a Female Siberian Huskie I raised from 8 weeks old.
When she was around 1-1/2 years old I had her tied outside in the summer on a house porch rail with one one of my cars next to it.
It was night time Sunday.
I went in the house to grab my cigarettes for a minute.
I came back out 5 minutes later and my dog was laying on her side almost dead.
I looked around and seen a puddle of green stuff coming from under neath the front of my car.
I said ChiT #%&(*( !
I had to drive 30 miles at over 100MPH across the county line in town & highway to a Vet I managed to reach to save her life.
The bill was over $600.00 in 1996.
