Default Oil leak around dipstick tube

Everytime I rev my engine above 2k, I get a cloud of smoke and a nice oil sheen on the passenger side of the car.
I know I am leaking oil around the tube, but I also see where oil is coming out of the top of the tube.

What is causing the oil to go up the tube?

PCV valve has vacuum and seems to work right, with no air leaks.

Cound be excessive blow-by caused by worn rings. With the engine running pull the PCV valve out of the valve cover. If you see little puffs of smoke coming out of the valve cover, that's your problem.

I had the same problem last year. I am rebuilding my engine now.

Possible pressure building in the crankcase? If there's no breather on the valve cover, maybe the pressure will push up the dipstick tube and spray the exhaust, hence the smoke? Just a thought...

Make sure that the PCV valve hose and the line that runs to the throttle body are in good condition...ie not soft and collapsing. As a last ditch effort, change the PCV valve as well.

If none of the above works, you probably have blow-by and it's time to start shopping for parts.

If you think your engine is fine, and you get good compression readings, then simply replace your oil dipstick w a brand new one (gm).

That was the prob w. Mine.

No smoke, no issues.

Why would ring blow by show up at the dipstick?

Because it pressurizes the crankcase which forces the oil up and out of the dipstick tube.
