Got a question about the top I installed.
I have a 96 LT-4 and installed a new top. I had a video and for the most part wasn’t a real hard project.
The only thing left to do is trim the excess top material and install the 5th bow rubber. But before I start cutting my top is fitting real tight. It’s so tight I’m having a hard time putting it up. Is that normal? I put it up yesterday hopping it will stretch.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Mike
Tops need to be tight. It should stretch a little, especially if you set it out in the hot sun with the top up.
I was told when I did mine, that once I get it all tweaked to put the top up, get it wet and then leave it in the sun to dry. It will open the pores and will conform to the size it settles into perfectly.
the 4th bow is adjustable, you can dropped it down, it will give you a little slack.
I measured the center of the 5th bow and lined it up with the center of the top, but apparently I was off about 3/4in. The drivers side fit tight but the passenger side was a little loose around the window. I pulled it apart and moved it a little a re-glued it. fits great now.
