VATS and other questions on my " Corveep"
I have read more on this in the past 2 weeks and think I might be more confused than I was before I started, sorry for being long winded here..
Let me lay out what I have and where I'm at, then I'll ask my questions.
87 Wrangler building from the ground up (doesn't matter, could be a Kia)
Powered by a 96' vette LT1 & 4L60e, both engine and dash harnesses.
Main gauge cluster, headlight switch, DIC and steering column from different 94 to 96' vette.
PCM from the same 96 that the engine and tranny came from.
BCM (if that what it's called, it's the under dash computer) from a 94 to 96 vette.
The PCM was reprogrammed to removed VATS and other stuff, both engine and dash harnesses are connected and I have voltage where I need it.
Questions...
Should I bypass VATS, or try to get it to work?
What would be the easiest option and how can I accomplish it ?
Is the BCM the theft deterrent relay, or in it?
Do I need the BCM to run my C4 gauges?
I have not connected the gauges up to see what happens, or to see if I get the security light....
Thanks,
Rick

Welcome to my world.
VATS is a simple pain that won't go away.
I have a 1990 Corvette with VATS problems.
I found a $189.00 fix but after even more research found a $19.99 fix.
Well any I ordered it today.

I'll keep the group updated and let you know how well it works.
Even with this you'll need to jump the VATS starter relay but everything else is tricked.
