Default Where is the in-cabin chime generated from?

The one that rings when you leave your keys in the ignition or your lights on. Mine is intermittent and I was wondering if it was an easy and inexpensive fix.

in my 91, its under the dash. Have to remove the upper-dash pad to get to it. My had cold-solder joints where the harness plugged into the chimer. I re-flowed the joints and its been working fine ever since.

Mine sounds terrible, my wife laughs at it everytime we get in the car.
