Default LT1 to LT4

Fuel rail question. Will the 95 fuel rail hook up to the 92 fuel lines without modifications?

Swapping to the 95 opti-spark, I have the timing cover for the 95 opti, but isn't there a new wiring harness required to adapt to the 95 opti? Does the 92 ECM have the capibility to run the 95 opti?

I'm still collecting parts for this upgrade from a 92 LT1 to a top end LT4 with a GM hotcam. I'm trying to collect all the parts and find all that is needed before I attempt this project. I hope it goes further than just a pipe dream.

Opti connectors are different on the short factory harness that goes between the Opti and main harness connector.
IIRC
the only difference in fuel rails is between what chassis they originally came out of; F-Bodies exit to opposite side to Vettes.

What's it like tomorrow? I made it to Darwin once and don't remember much thanks to a beer called Fosters.

Clear sunny winters day , top of 65F

Foster's beer only drunk now by people living outside of Australia who think they are drinking a " real Australian" beer even though it is most likely brewed and bottled in their own country

Default Australian beer

going off-topic but might as well...

so, what's the Aussie equivalent to US's Budweiser? is Lite beer even sold in any significant proportion down under?

just wondering.

Well this was back in the early 70's and that's all the military guys had there. At the time, I'd never heard of Fosters but because of it, I was sucking allot of oxygen flying back to Thailand.

I guess we did get off the subject.

Default LT1/LT4 newbie

I am newbie round here and just got my 94 6 speed. I am 3rd owner, original owner went to LT4 stuff(plus other upgrades) years ago. So I do not know what a LT! is like, but this LT1/LT4 feels faster than my 99 Z28 LS1 6 speed I sold recently. It can be a lil on the rowdy side at low speeds though......

You will need the new style opti harness. Then decide which connector you are going to change. Will it be change the really old one attached to the intake that goes to the ECM? Or the really new one that came with your new harness?

Once you have decided look at the Opti wiring diagrams in both FSM.
Or do a search at the guru for posts that reasponded to me back in January when I had to do the same thing.

Yes the 92 ECM handles the newer OPTI just fine.

Thanks for the reply. All I have is the original Opti wiring and ECM. Is there a simple plug and play pigtail?

Nope, bought a new pigtail from the dealer $$
Cut the old connector off my Dynaspark harness
Cut the new connector off
Spliced the new pigtail to the old connector

THe old pigtail won't work because its too short at the opti end - at least that was the way I rememeber it. Been too many years since I had the oem opti on the 92.
