I have a 1986 corvette with a automatic and it jumps into overdrive way to soon. when it does that it cugges along. I am pretty sure it is the torqc converter fluddering because i can tap the brakes lightly and it runs great. Its like having a differant car. I can't see and adjustment. Could i get some good advice from somone out there Please.
I think it's set to go into OD in the low 40's if you're not really putting your foot into it. You might want to put your shifter into D rather than OD to be sure it's the OD you're noticing and not something else (like torque converter lockup).
I'm sure someone who knows way more than me about franies will pipe up soon.
There is an adjustment tab for the tv cable on the drivers side of the intake, right behind the throttle body. With the engine not running press the tab, and move the slider on the front towards the back of the car, release the tab and push the throttle lever wide open. This should make frany behave, but you should also check to make sure her fluid is at the correct level.
