I just got my PS pump back from Turn one yesterday. Plan to install it on my 93 this weekend if the Weather is nice. Reviewing the process in the Helms manual, they say to remove the AC compressor/power steering pump bracket. Something I have not done in the past. Do I need to remove the water pump to remove the bracket? It does look like it would be easier to get to things with it out of the way. What is the best way? THANKS!
Hopefully you are more adept than I am. My bracket broke a few months ago and I couldn't for the life of me get the pulley off even with air tools. I didn't want to remove the pump by disconnecting the hoses which would have made a mess. I removed the 6 10mm head bolts (3 on each side) with a box wrench turning 1 flat at a time which allowed me to separate the pump from the bracket. Since you are going to remove your old pump, just remove the alternator, air pump bracket and the bolts holding the ps pump bracket on the block. Disconnect the hoses and you should be good to go. On the bench, you can put the pulley on a vice and remove it with air tools. Good luck

Pull the AC compressor off and lay aside.
Pull the alternator off and disconnect all wires, put aside.
Now you have room to take the pulley off the power steering pump
Its a little tricky to get the low pressure hose off, but you have lots of room to disconnect the high pressure hose off
Now you can unbolt the pump from the bracket.
Good luck with the lower end of the high pressure hose. I didn't have good tools so I let my mechanic deal with it.
