Default My c4 to c6 z06 brake conversion

Gathered some of the begining important parts after some research on here and working with Paul at VAN STEEL and Tray over at STREET SHOP.
Big thanks to them for making these products.
My car is an 87 that will be getting a Warhawk LS7/T56 powertrain in it but ill start another thread on that.lol
I wanted to upgrade brakes because the stock c4 brakes were just horrible so i decided to go with c6 z06 brakes.

First pic is the brackets Paul at VAN STEEL made up to bolt c6 z06 calipers to a early 84-87 c4.

Second pic is the kit Tray and the guys over at STREET SHOP made to adapt rear c6 z06 brakes on a c4 and retain a ebrake which i wanted to do.

You know you can order them now in other colors than just red, right?

For 2012 they come in Dark Grey Metallic, Yellow, Silver and Red now...

I'm going with the dark grey metallic...it'll hide the brake dust better.

Just wish they'd do them in Black

Ill either be running 18x10.5 c6 z06 repro wheels in black all around or 18x11 forgestar f14 wheels in black all around with 315 30 18 tires.
With the c6 z06 repro wheels ill need adapters to space the wheels out.
Im working with a couple people now to see if i can fit the forgestar wheels without caliper interference with the correct offset i need to fit the 18x11 wheels on car because you can order the forgestar wheels with custom offsets.

Then the red calipers will look great on that...

I'm doing the same upgrade this summer...I can upgrade brakes without penalty now. Time to pull the trigger.

Still having a hard time picking a wheel and tire!

Its either a 4-19x11 c6 z06 wheels in black with 325/30-19 tires or 4-18x10.5 c6 z06 wheels with 315/30-18 tires.
Id like to stick with 11" wide wheels like i have now and the only c6 z06 wheels that are 11" wide and 19" wheels. Not sure if i want to go that big i wish they made the 18" version in 11" wide but they ony come in 10.5".
What do you guys think?
I have searched and found some pics with c4's and 19" wheels and they look good but im having a hard time pulling the trigger.

I'm assuming this isn't a low-budget kind of build, but honestly I'd go with the 18's. Would it be possible to get someone to add in 1/2" to get the 11" total you want?

Also, if you don't mind, could you PM me the price you paid for the 4 calipers and all the hardware to mount them? I'm thinking about doing this next year on my 89, sans e-brake. I know what rotors and pads I'm going to be using so that's not a concern.

Thanks.

Have you thought about CCW making a wheel for you?

Yea spending lots but it beats putting the money down on a new z06 and having a huge car payment still! lol
I really want to go with the c6 z06 wheel, like the look on the c4's!
At first i said no way to a 19' wheel which they make in a 19x11 but after seeing pics i think it looks ok.Im back and forth.
To much to add 1/2" to a 18" wheel, dont think i want to get involved in that.

I bought the 4 calipers with pins new from kore3.Paid $1300 shipped for all new gm stuff.
http://www.kore3.com/products.php?cat=25&pg=2

Front Adapter brackets are from Paul at van steel.I think they are going for like $180 shipped.
http://www.vansteel.com/

Rotors and pads were from Brakemotive that sell on this site.He has threads going. They were $375 shipped for 4 rotors and pads.

Rear adapter kit with ebrake is from Tray at street shop,it was like $900 shipped with ebrake cables and all.I think 88 and up c4's wld be cheaper though because i needed an extra piece for the kit later vettes wld not need.

Yikes. That's getting upward close to $3k. My car is track only, so maybe a BBK from Wilwood may be a more cost effective option for me. We shall see. Thanks for the info.

if you go with the 18"s , the tires will be bout $100 less per wheel than the 19"s , the actual tire height can be played with to get the look you want
