Which way turns the pressure DOWN? I'm getting readings of 72psi while cranking and the screw is almost all the way out of the regulator. This is much too high! I need about 42psi. Does clockwise turn it down? I'll be back in a few, gotta go get an EGR gasket.
Counter clockwise or out should lower the pressure. I think my screw has about 1/2 turn left before it falls out and I got it down to 45 with vacuum...about 55 without.
Left turn Clyde. If you got it all the way out and it still shows that high with the motor running and the vacuum line disconnected, then I would say there is a problem with the AFPR.
You need to check with a mechanical pressure gauge. Almost all electric gauges are off a fair amount except for the $200 autometer ones. I had the same problem with the Cyberdyne/Intellitronix gauges. I even had a VDO FP gauge that was way off.
