Default Help....installing ati supercharger

well I've made it to the intercooler install.....and I don't like the air dam or ram air scoop for the intercooler ......were is the engine, trans and oil cooler going to get there air?" it looks like with there set up the engine is going to run hot, maybe I should use the original air dam and maybe get more air for the engine radiator and let the intercooler get what it can............what are you guys doing ? I need some fast help come hell or high water this babys on the road by saturday..........thanks leadfoot

Can someone explain why the L-98 kit has the intercooler mounted in the radiator shroud, yet the LT1 kit is mounted above the shroud?

Does this have to do with the radiator shroud design of the earlier year cars, and the radiator being straight up and down some how?

They have 3 types of ontercoolers anyhow. in the radiator shroud, above it, or dual intercoolers in the area under the headlight buckets.

Then, which one is the better set up?

Leadfoot, as ATI seems to be regaining some credibility with the D series blowers, I was considering buying a kit.
One thing I was thinking I would do before I even started the install was taking all those rubber hoses and having them built by some shop who can do mandrel bends. The F body forum guys seem to still complain about them, I think after some time they like to balloon up. If you were to have them made out of steel etc... maybe at that time you can put a nicer curve in that funky tube that comes right out of the blowers discharge at that hard angle? Just a thought.

Can you post some pics when you finish? Lets us know how it goes.

bill you wouldn't believe the pain those bends are to install, if you couldn't get some play out of the rubber 90's you couldn,t put it to gether, plus they serve as vibration dampners, I guess it could be done but it would be trial and error until you got the perfect angle. The maf seems to be the weak link there is no room on the flange to clamp to and it comes of easy, also at this point the tubing is rubbing on differant parts at differant points........there is just on room under there..........leadfoot....more to come

Do you have 2-1core intercoolers or 1-big 2or3 core intercooler? On my 91 i have one intercooler on each side, by the head lights????
