starting fluid. spray a small amount at places like intake gasket, vacume hoses. if there is a leak it will change your idle speed

Brake booster hose.

I used the cigar smoke system once, I don't smoke, got sick as a dog and dizzy as hell and still didn't see any smoke escaping other than places I forgot to seal shut. You will need to seal the throttle body inlet. I've always had good luck with a water bottle, spray the water along the intake/head area and all the other intake areas that has a gasket. If the engine stumbles it means water is getting into the combustion chamber and you've found your leak. I've tried propane too but never had results.

This is the ultimate vacuum leak tester. Back off the intake and exhaust valves, replace the throttle body with this plate. Apply vacuum to see if it holds. If it doesn't, apply cigar smoke and see where the leak is. There is a cork gasket on the other side which seals against the plenum.
