Default D36 to D44. What needed??

My friend cracked the case on his diff. Since it was a "85" standard xmission I assume it was a D44. However it turned out to be a D36. I just got back from a round trip of 300 miles to pickup a D44. The guy I bought it from was nice enough to sell me the C beam and driveshaft from the car where the D44 came from. Is that all we need?????

Thanks for all help.

That should do it. You don't say what year the D44 came out of, if it is from 89 or later the 6 speed cars used a larger diameter front yoke on the driveshaft. If that is the case you can swap the yoke from the existing shaft, if you do that you may want to replace the u-joint.
If the ratios are different between the 36 and 44 save yourself some aggravation and change the speedometer gears while the rear end is removed.

Thanks a bunch. The car the diff came from was a "85" also. The car the diff is going in is a race car.

THANKS.
