Default pesky alarm...

I have an 88 and an 89 Vette and i'm having the same problem with BOTH of them...when i unlock and open the Driver door the alarm goes off and i can only shut off the alarm by unlocking the passenger door, what is the issue??? It's Only the Driver door though, if i initially unlock the passenger everything is ok...i've been told it was the actuator but i changed that and the same problem still occurs! Somebody HELP ME, PLEASE!! Thank you in advance.

On the back of the door key cylinder is a switch. When you turn
the key to unlock the door, the switch closes and sends a ground
signal to disarm the alarm.

The switch is held on by a E clip. The switch is sold
by many of the Corvette dealers like Ecklers. Shop around
for the best price. The switch is door dependent. If you decide
to buy one make sure it's for the drivers door.

The switch is item 205 shown below.

Here's a guy that replaced the door alarm switch in a late model C4.
He replaced the switch without removing the sheet metal plate from the door.
