I need to replace the Parking Brake Handle Assembly. My handle will not
release the brake when the normal release procedure is follower. Is this a difficult process? Is there a procedure either printed or video describing this job? Mechanic required or light mechanical experience? Thanks.
Have you tried lubricating the mechanism? When I bought my car I couldn't get the parking brake to release, I lubed it up and it worked again. Every once in a while I'll have some trouble with the button, I just pull up a little more on the lever & push the button, it usually releases.

What are the problems that you are having?
Had the same issue with mine. I laid a rag under it (to not grease the carpet) and sprayed with Liquid-Wrench while going back and forth with the handle to work it in. After a few minutes and alot of Break-On/Break-Off it works perfect. That old lube in there gets dry and gritty from years of dirt and the teeth in there are pretty fine, gotta loosen it up

I near panicked a couple of times with mine which is lubed well but kind of loose side to side. I learned to pull the handle to the right (towards me) then pull up while still pulling right, pushing the button in, I think, when I feel a little resistance starting as I pull it up.
If I pull it straight up I don't think it will release at all, like it's not able to pull the cable/linkage enough to clear the detent.
As far as replacing it, I have a new/used one myself which I have not put in yet. It doesn't look like it would be a big deal though.

Based on what the mechanism looks like to me, I'm willing to bet that any side-to-side play can be fixed with a hammer and an anvil. It looks like it's held together with BIG factory rivits and as long as no openings have been elongated, those rivits can be further compressed Ya gotta be willing to try anything before spending
I would have looked at that but the leather on my old one is totally gone and the car is a manual which means it was used a lot. I found a really nice one on E-bay for $30, must have come off an automatic car.

I get all sorts of material and foam cushions at a "Yarn-Barn" or where I live we have two places, Jo-Anne's" and "Michael's. When I'm working a project and have to go there, I always get strange looks from the woman but they have no idea I'm on an automotive related mission Find one of these stores and you'll be AMAZED at the stuff they have, I've found marine grade vinyl, foam backed head-liner material and I believe that most guys would never believe that stuff is in there tucked away in the corner. It's a treasure trove. I can't begin to mention the custom projects I've done using stuff I found in these places, custom shifter boots, dash-pads and on and on........
