Default Cloyes 3039 ok for high HP?

I have a timing chain question. I've been running a double roller in my race motor for years. I sold the motor to a friend, it's being retired from racing and going into an Impala DD. We're switching back to a single roller chain. The car will see an occasional 1/4 mile.

I've done a bunch of searches but most of the timing chains listed in the older posts are not made anymore, and everyone else says switch to the double roller set. It looks like the Cloyes 9-3039 is the replacement single roller for late LT1 cars, will it handle 450 hp?

I don't want to put a weak chain in and grenade the motor...and I can't see paying $300 for the 9-3651x3.

What is the reason for switching? What happened to the one in the engine?

I ran an electric pump, the machined cover I have (to clear the double roller) is welded closed where the water pump drive gear goes.
