Default 1994 Service Engine Soon

On my 1994 LT1.....
When I crank it up, about 5 seconds later the service engine soon light comes on and the fan kicks on at the same time. doesnt seem to affect anything, but its annoying because I dont know whats going on and the dealership couldnt or didnt have the right reader to read any codes??? Any ideas would be appreciated!! Thanks

have you modded anything, or worked on it at all? Check all your wiring/connections...

matter of fact I have. I had the engine pulled out and totally rebuilt. This vette was passed down to me with a blown engine....... Every thing is going great with except for that. Since I didnt do the work, I have no idea where to start, and believe it or not, the place that rebuilt the motor is no longer in business. it was about 2 years ago...

Start here to pull the code or codes using a paper clip:

For best results troublehoot codes using the correct Factory Service Manual for your vehicle.

Just a quick check. Is the coolant temp sensor plugged in? It's located on the front of the water pump.
