update on 92 no start
My 92 would fire up and go then go dead. I would also get a ASR service light any time it would not crank. Problem was intermitant. Bought service manuals and checked everything I could. Then I talked to the supernice fellow who owns Petris Enterprises,a former Florida Corvette shop, and he steered me toward the ECM. He had me disconnect the brake module behind the seat, then attempt startup to see if it made any difference. It did not When I would paper clip to check codes I got nothing, but the ccm would show several codes related to communication(sorry for not remembering the codes) with the ecm. Checked with AES, but they wanted 4 to 500 dollars to rebuild. O'Reillys was the only place I found that even offerd to help. They sent it off for rebuild for $180 and lifetime warr. Just got it put back in and car starts and seems to work fine. Always had a rought idle and strong smell from exhaust, now idles much more smoothly. Time will tell how well this ecm works I guess. Thanks to everybody here for their help and I hope this info helps someone else.
