Hard Brake Pedal, Bad Booster?

Hard Brake Pedal, Bad Booster?
I have a 93 LT1, 30k original miles and the brakes are pretty weak. Locking up to get ABS is just not going to happen. The pedal is firm and hard. I thought maybe the Booster was bad so I check all the vacuum lines and tested the booster by placing vacuum on it. It held fine with no leaks and the check valve works perfectly. In fact after two days it held vacuum from the previous drive. All vacuum lines are sealed and in good condition.
Is it possible that something inside the booster is bad even though it checks fine?
Does anyone carry a new booster as I have read that some of the remans from the big box retailers are not very good?

New AC Delco boosters are available. I just bought one a couple of months ago.
You could have a problem in the ABS system. There was a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGG thread on this several years ago. Several people fixed theirs by resetting the ABS system and performing the "clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes" procedure, even though it was showing no codes.
The final solution was...

The "firm, hard pedal" with very little braking action sounds to me like the booster is bad. You really have to press very hard to stop the car. Boosters do go bad, I can't vouch for or against the vacuum test.
As for the re-manufacted ones from the big box stores (A1 Cardone) they should work fine for normal street driving. However, autocrossing or track events will make them live a short life. The internal diaphragm tears or ruptures. Usually carry a lifetime warranty as long as you own the car, but, a pain in the butt to replace. Also low cost is good. AC Delco if available may be a better option, but cost and warranty must be considered.
A "Corvette Junkyard" is also an option for a used replacement. Check any of the used Corvette Vendors, many are on this site.
