Riddle me this
The car is an 85 Vette auto. When I got it it started fine, had an aftermarket alarm. Next day no start. Took out alarm still no start, kept jumping solenoid to start. after not messing with it for awhile, battery died, took it out charged it put back in car would not start but would turn over with jumping solenoid. Tried again next day, if the battery was connected the starter would turn on it's own no matter what and keep going. Removed the starter interrupt relay and it does not do it, now if I turn the key to run and connect the relay the starter will engage and the car will start! I figure the relay is shorted so I order another with same part number, and nothing won't turn over key or not. Plugged old one back in and it turns over and starts. What say the masses? do these relays have codes? the old one has a 4 digit code written on it, and the new one is blank. Any ideas appreciated, thanks.
