About a month ago i had my a/c worked on small leak and freon added. Its a 93 and its been changed over to r34. Before i had it in the shop i was getting the blinking light i pulled the code and it showed a 9 /low freon. If i reset it by pulling negative cable i got the clutch to engage for a secound and then i got the blinking auto light and it showed 09. So when i got it back i had ice cold a/c! Just yesterday i got the blinking auto light again.I reset it it and the compressor clutch engaged and it worked fine real cold.Well its happened again and when i get the blinking auto light NO A/C. Can this be something other than low a/c? Also will this cause the SYS to flash? Car is running great other than this.Could a bad connection cause this? THanks for any help. Dave
Had the same issue.. Made temp repair.. Didn't use the gauges.. Put a can in... Reset system.. Fired up.. Cooled nicely..Shut off next day low freon code again..added half a can I had left over....problem fixed.. In short even if it's low it will still blow cold when driving around.... Have them put the gauges back on.. Or add some more 134....
PCM, through the Body Module is monitoring, cycling (on/off) of the Low Pressure Switch which is spliced into the Compressor Relay and the High Pressure Voltage through the Pressure Sensor. Rapid cycling and something usually less than .6 volts from the Pressure Sensor sets the Code. If you want to see if there's enough gas in it, you're going to have hook up a manifold gage set and start with static (nothing running) pressures. Both sides should be about 70 psi at 70 degrees, about 85 psi at 80 degrees and 105 psi at 90. If you get those pressures, jumper the harness contacts to the Low Pressure Switch and turn on the Compressor. Note the High and Low Sides. Low 200 to mid 200's on the high and something around 30 to 40 on the low, would indicate it's got enough gas in it. I'd then try a new Low Pressure Switch.
