Good LT1 Mechanic in "Atlanta" or north area?
I'm located about 75 miles north of Atlanta so when I say "Atlanta area" I'm pretty liberal about it. I am looking for recommendations for a good corvette mechanic for a 1995 C4. A lot of places focus on LS engined cars and it's harder to find a good LT1 mechanic. I don't care whether it's a "vette" shop or not. I will post this in the tech area as well.
Thanks,
Ron B.

Jim Ellis Chevy - they have a c2, c3, c4, c5, c6, and c7 mechanic
He is old school and was one of the first that was trained on the ZR1.
And a set of shop manuals for your year and a $200 set of tools will get 80% - 90% of any issues fixed by you.
On my 92 I've got a few more tools and the shop manuals so the only thing that gets farmed out is engine and trans swaps (I have no space and no lift)
I'll make the offer to help you get comfortable with the car - I'm near Stone Mtn. PM me and we'll figure a date and spend a few hours wrenching and looking at stuff.
When you say 75 miles north - wherabouts exactly?

Sounds like we have some folks fairly close by. That might be nice if we need to pool out collective knowledge and mechanical expertise at some point. Also, I always like to look at other nice cars.
Maybe we should have a meet up some time.

Really, he knows his stuff and some tricks. My wife has an 04 and the signal lights are a big problem to replace. If you read the manual and other information you have to take apart half the bumper to get to them. David just reaches his arm in and 3 min later old bulb is out, new bulb is in - its like watching a magician.
For the guy in Dawsonville - buy the helms shop manuals. Call BJ at Genesis One (just south of the outlet mall on 400) tell him the C5 Mafia sent you his way. BJ is a general mechanic, ace fabricator and all around good guy. Right now he has had my c4 in his parking lot for about a year waiting for me to come up with the dough to have him swap yet another engine in it. For general mechanic work near Dawsonville he can't be beat. (If you need a racing cage or any other fabrication work done - he is the man around here. He has done lots of cages in lots of different vehicles)
