Depending upon what you do with the car you could also consider the QA1 adjustable shock. With these you can have your cake and eat it too so to speak. Crank in a bunch of adjustment for autoX or spirited weekends and pull it all out for cruising (easier on the car and you). They are my weapon of choice unless we are talking full on racing...then we are talking Penske...just my .02
Deakins, are the QA1 shocks like stock as far as no modifications? And if so what part numbers and where did you get them? And are they a better quality shock than Bilsteins?
Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I make the right decision before buying a set of shocks.
They bolt in just as the OEM shock with no modifications. As for quality over the Bilsteins I would say they are at least equivalent with a plus being the ability to have them rebuilt pretty easily when the time comes. The big seller for me was simply that I can dial in a bunch of compression and rebound to match track/road conditions and turn around and pull it all out and have a shock much softer than the OEM. That way the car is banging itself up and down the road when I"m just driving to go out and eat. I'll shoot you a PM with more details.
I have the QA-1's also and they give a great street ride. If I want to do a little heavier driving I can just pull over and in 90 seconds I can adjust all four shocks to what ever level I need. The Koni's have to be removed to adjust them so I passed on them. The construction is top notch full billet aluminum. Mine are the single adjustment ones and they have 12 levels to choose from.
