Just to get it out of the way... I don't have the FSM. I only have the electrical diagram.
The defogger on my '90 has never worked for as long as I've owned it. When I press the defogger button the green light illuminates for about 2-3 seconds and shuts off.
Anyone know where I can start?
The car has the electronic A/C controls and the rear window has never been tinted.
Maybe the defroster circuit is open. Check all the connections on the grid and both ends of the hatch struts. The struts are part of the circuit. I had a wire solder connection break off the grid on my car.
If you have a similar set up to my 84 you should have a ground on the lower driver side connector.. If you connect one lead of a meter to 12v, and the other to this connector to confirm this. You should get 12v on the top of this strut through the strut.. You should also get 12v on the top and bottom of the passenger strut.. If you get this far you need to check from the switch to the grid.. Its possible that you have lost continuity through one or both struts..
