Do you have the instructions on how to do it? I have seen them online if you don't.

I put a VSS-200 in my car. That one was superseded by the VKE-1000. The instructions are very detailed and tell you which wires to splice into, what the wire colors are and how to test to make sure you are splicing into the correct wire. I've got mine mounted under the dash on the driver's side. That's where most of the wires you need to grab are located.

I don't know if this applies, but you must have power door locks to install one of these guys.

Does anyone know how to program new remotes to the VKE 1000? The manual that Batee.com posted years ago is missing the last two pages. I emailed him and he was gracious enough to reply to me, but unfortunately he no longer has it.

Reach out to user Z51JEFF he's the most recent purchaser I recall of one directly from a dealer and I'd think he would have retained the complete instruction package.

Here's the install for the 4000. It's very similar and should be the same for programming the buttons. It may help.

Thank you Z51JEFF for providing the program info for the VKE1000. It worked! This system has no valet button to program like most aftermarket systems. I asked him for his permission to upload the image of the program procedure here to help anyone else looking.

In case the image ever disappears, the procedure is as follows:

1. Turn the key in the ignition ON/OFF/ON/OFF/ON (not starting, just on)
2. The doors lock and unlock by themselves to let you know that it is in program mode.
3. Press the LOCK button on each remote.
4. The doors lock and unlock by themselves to let you know that it has stored the remote in memory.
5. Turn the key OFF. The remote(s) are programmed.
