I have a 1987 L98 and the oil pressure has always been good - but not now. I an thinking it is the sensor. I found the sensor - behind the distributor and low on the driver's side. it looks like a problem to get to.
Is there an easy way to access this? I heard mention of cutting an access hole (through the cowling??). The wiper motor is in the way - does it help to remove it?? It is covered in a vacuum line and wires - it is tight. What cha think??
Picture of oil pressure sensor with distributor out L98
I did take the distributor out and replaced the sensor - it did not seem to solve my low oil pressure issue, but I have a good picture. Thanks, off to the next thing - dropping the pan
I agree. The one with two wires is the pressure switch and the one with one wire is the pressure sensor. The arrow seems to be pointing at either so not sure which he changed. If he changed the one with two wires that could be why it still shows low pressure.
