I would imagine possibly the interlock actuator. I have a manual so I can't compare. It looks like there are two unconnected connectors. Can't say where the other one goes, you will need to look on the panel. I know the circular one to the right of the shifter is for your power outlet.

It actually look like that long one might go through the bracket where the power window switches are and go to something inside there. Maybe power mirrors, power seats, something like that?

There is only one bulb for the shift indicator.

I think they used the same light assembly on multiple cars and some had the bulb in the opposite end.

I do not see anywhere for them to plug into. The car does have working backup lights.

From the picture there isn't any O.D. switch next to the drivers window switch. could be for O.D.

The long wire went to the seat belt. The short one goes into the back of the gear shifter. Not sure what is does. When the shifter in isn low it must do something.

Hatch release? Console glove box light? An FSM is a valuable tool for deciphering wire color codes.

I would start with an attempt with this socket GM 12007642 (LS64-ACD) would have been correct for the later C4 and I see no reason it wouldn't do the earlier, you won't find that one but I believe this one GM 12167138 (LS71-ACD) should be easily found. Take the earlier #'s and the later #'s both to a first rate auto parts store and you should be able to be helped maybe less expensively.

NAPA I believe certainly could, CARQUEST likely and most others I'd think also. I believe it would be on their shelf also. There should be no reason to have to order.

A GM dealer is likely or a larger ACD jobber.

I didn't say it "would" but it's likely and yours is broken so I'd say a start!
